It's Carrot Time Again At The 78th St. Heritage Farm
Come And Help Us!

SEED

Fun and easy for small groups during May and June.

WEED

Just the opposite, but critical all summer for carrots and kids.

FEED

Rewarding work for everyone from August to November.

Last year the carrot patch drew more than 2,000 volunteer hours in producing 50,000 pounds of fresh carrots. From August through November, every food box recipient had fresh carrots available.

SEED:

This activity is complete; the seeds are planted and growing!

Like everyone's garden, getting started depends on the weather. We will schedule groups of 4-6 people in 2-3 hour shifts in May and to help us plant miles of carrots.

WEED:

Our schedule this summer will be built around Clark County Restorative Justice Community Service kids. We will be at the garden every Wednesday and Saturday from 9 AM until 1PM to help produce healthy carrots and healthy kids. Come as often as you wish.

FEED:

Harvesting will begin in August and is a perfect opportunity to bring your firm, your church, your neighbors, or your family for a few hours of work for all ages. There is a job for everyone -- Dig, top, and new this year, wash the carrots. Come on Wednesday or Saturday morning, or schedule a group.

NEW PARTNERS EQUAL NEW CROPS, BROADER DISTRIBUTION

Churches in Partnership and Loaves and Fishes will each farm an additional acre, increasing crop diversity and broadening food distribution. They will share their bounty with Clark County Food Bank agencies and we will all share volunteers as the need exists.
