ANNOUNCING MARCIE WALSH
AS PROGRAM DIRECTOR
When Marcie Walsh moved to Clark County in 2023, she found more than a new home—she found a mission. A serendipitous AmeriCorps role at Clark County Food Bank quickly led to a staff position in Nutrition Education. In that role she lead AmeriCorps teams, expanded programs like Seed to Supper and Cooking Matters, and developed recipe boxes for food pantry clients..
As of March 2025, Marcie officially steps into a new role as Program Director. CCFB President, Emily Straw, shares, “I am thrilled to support Marcie Walsh stepping in the role of Program Director at Clark County Food Bank! As we expand our root cause efforts, Marcie will be leading key initiatives in Nutrition Education, Workforce Development, Resource Navigation, and Financial Wellness. Root cause work goes beyond immediate hunger relief; it focuses on empowering individuals and families with the tools, knowledge, and opportunities they need to achieve long-term stability. Marcie brings extensive experience in this kind of transformative work, along with a collaborative spirit and a deep commitment to those she serves.”
Walsh plans to connect with partners and assess root causes to strengthen CCFB’s efforts, working toward a fully integrated mission of hunger relief and long-term solutions. On stepping into this role, she says, “I am excited to apply my own strengths in problem solving and systems thinking that supports the mission of CCFB and the community. I want to do this work.” Root cause work is complex, but Walsh welcomes the challenge. She champions the underdog and believes, “Complex problems cannot be solved with simple solutions. They need complex solutions.” With her leadership, heart, and strategic mindset, Walsh is ready to take CCFB’s impact to new heights.
