SNAP APPLICATION ASSISTANCE

What is SNAP?

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), also known as “Basic Food” in Washington, helps families with low incomes buy groceries. Eligible households receive a pre-loaded EBT card that works like a debit card and is refilled each month.

You can use your EBT card at most grocery stores and farmers markets to purchase food. The amount you receive depends on your household size, income, and monthly expenses like housing, utilities, child support, and medical costs.

Receiving SNAP doesn’t affect your ability to visit a local food pantry. You can use both resources to help meet your family’s needs.
