A Note From the President
For many people, the end of the calendar year is a time for resolutions. It is a moment to reflect on what matters and commit to the months ahead with fresh focus. For us at Clark County Food Bank, that moment comes in July.
Compost Delivery
Healthy soil means more nutritious food for our community! This spring at our Heritage Farm location, 500 yards of organic compost was spread across 5 acres, boosting soil health. Thanks to Dirt Hugger, and a grant from the Sustainable Farms & Fields program in partnership with Clark Conservation District.
Farmer Spotlight: Heidi’s Fancy Goods
“Good Food Available for All” is the heart and soul of local grower, Heidi Zimmerman’s, work at Heidi’s Fancy Goods. A lifelong steward of the land, Heidi comes from a long line of organic farmers. At her Amboy, WA, farm, regeneration, sustainability, and reverence for the earth shape her farming practices.
Food Bank Fresh Returns: Rolling Out Fresh Food
Food Bank Fresh is back for the summer, bringing fresh, nutritious food straight to neighborhoods across Clark County. This farmers market-style mobile pantry travels from June through September, delivering farm-grown produce and pantry staples directly to our neighbors. There is no ID, proof of income, or paperwork required.
Partner Agency Highlight: FISH of Vancouver
FISH of Vancouver has been serving the community since 1969, eventually finding a home on Harney Street downtown in 2015. A few years ago, they decided to take their efforts on the road and launched a new program: the Mobile Food Pantry!

We know that hunger is a rarely just about food. That’s why we’re launching Food+ Programs that focus on the Root Causes of hunger: Financial Empowerment, Workforce Development, Resource Navigation, and Nutrition Education.
The Diaper Bank Moves to Clark County Food Bank
Clark County Food Bank has taken over operations of Clark County’s only Diaper Bank, previously managed by Battle Ground Adventist Community Services. Since 2018, this program has quietly met a critical need, distributing millions of diapers and wipes to families in Clark County.
Grant Provides a New Freezer for the Fruit Valley Food Pantry
We’re so grateful to Starbuscks for their continued support through the FoodShare donation program and a recent Capacity Building Grant that helped us purchase a new freezer for our Fruit Valley Community Kitchen.
A New Tractor for the CCFB Farm!
Last week, we officially welcomed a New Holland Work Master 70 tractor to the CCFB farm—made possible by a generous donation in honor of Barb and Woody Woods. Their family, including daughter Cheryl, granddaughter, and two great-grandkids joined us to celebrate this special moment.

I’m honored to return to Clark County Food Bank this spring and once again work alongside such a dedicated team and community. As we remain committed to alleviating hunger and addressing it’s root causes, I’m excited about the impact we can create together.
Don Young Leads the Charge to Stamp Out Hunger in Clark County
Every May, communities across the country unite to combat hunger—starting right at their mailboxes. The National Association of Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger food drive, held annually on the second Saturday in May, has collected nearly 2 billion pounds of food since its launch in 1993.
Clark County Food Bank Launches Vivery Food Finder Tool
When the right tools align with the right mission, impact grows. That’s exactly what’s happening with Vivery—a digital platform helping individuals find nearby food resources—and Clark County Food Bank (CCFB).

Growing Together: Heritage Farm’s Spring Impact
With spring in full swing, we're planting the seeds for another abundant season at Heritage Farm! This year, all 11 acres will be in production, growing a vibrant mix of fresh produce, including corn, carrots, winter squash, cabbage, peppers, zucchini, cucumbers, Ananas melons, pumpkins, eggplant, and green beans. Over the next few weeks, more than 2,500 plant starts will go into the ground, allowing us to begin harvesting earlier from our mixed veggie field.
Announcing Marcie Walsh as Program Director
When Marcie Walsh moved to Clark County in 2023, she found more than a new home—she found a mission. A serendipitous AmeriCorps role at Clark County Food Bank quickly led to a staff position in Nutrition Education. In that role she lead AmeriCorps teams, expanded programs like Seed to Supper and Cooking Matters, and developed recipe boxes for food pantry clients..
A Successful Food Drive Season
As the days grow colder and the need for assistance rises, we are thrilled to share the incredible success of this year’s food drive season! Thanks to the compassion and dedication of our community, 60+ unique food drives—including the highly anticipated Walk & Knock—came together to collect more than 400,000 pounds of food for those in need.
Message from the New President
It is with great honor and excitement that I step into the role of President at Clark County Food Bank during a pivotal and meaningful time for this organization. During the past eight years, I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside you - donors, volunteers, nonprofit partners, and an extraordinary staff and board team. I look forward to co-creating the future of Clark County Food Bank as we pilot and innovate new programs that alleviate hunger and its root causes in our community.
