Farmer Spotlight: Heidi’s Fancy Goods
This spring, Clark County Food Bank staff visited three of Heidi’s growing sites in northern Clark County. The sunny day on the farms provided a closer look at local growing efforts.
“Good Food Available for All” is the heart and soul of local grower, Heidi Zimmerman’s, work at Heidi’s Fancy Goods. A lifelong steward of the land, Heidi comes from a long lineage of organic farmers. That legacy is palpable the moment you step onto her farm in Amboy, WA, where regeneration, sustainability, and reverence for the earth shape every aspect of her practice.
From the varieties of fruits and vegetables she chooses to grow to the way she lives—in relationship with her land and animals—Heidi makes decisions rooted in intention. Whether you’re sharing a conversation with her at the Vancouver Farmers Market or savoring one of her blushing onions or blue Hubbard squash, Heidi’s passion for food justice and community education is contagious.

A true renaissance woman, Heidi’s talents extend far beyond growing produce. She is deeply knowledgeable in foraging and food preservation, and always eager to share creative ways to make the most of what the land provides. Throughout the season, you’ll find her booth stocked with unique, small-batch offerings like hand-pressed ciders and juices, artisanal syrups tapped from her own trees, and truffle salt made from truffles that grow naturally on her property.
Heidi is one of many incredible local producers Clark County Food Bank has had the privilege of partnering with through our various federal food purchasing programs. We’re so grateful for her commitment to growing clean, nutrient-dense food for our community. We look forward to future opportunities to partner alongside one another!
