Enjoying a HUGE turkey dinner is time-honored tradition for most families on Thanksgiving. Since Thanksgiving is a holiday that centers on food, we think it is the perfect opportunity to host an event to help people who simply don’t have enough food. And this year, Clark County Turkey Trot was a huge success, thanks to friends and supporters like you.

We believe the reason for the growing success of Clark County’s Turkey Trot comes down to one critical Thanksgiving ingredient: all the participants make it FUN!

The icy-cold water did not hinder participants from taking The Polar Plunge into Klineline Pond after the race. Nearly 100 turkey trotter, young and old, braved the waters.

“Every year we see participants dress up in costume, wear giant turkey hats, and run in crazy tutus” explains Caitlin Cunningham, Event Coordinator at Clark County Food Bank. “Clark County Turkey Trot is a family-fun event and a meaningful way to raise money to help end hunger in our community.”

With the help of our lead Turkey sponsor Heritage Bank, and our Gravy sponsors Ryonet and Formal Flush, plus 20 additional Mashed Potato sponsors, we were able to raise enough funds to provide over 150,000 meals to people in Clark County. Wow!

This year was Clark County Turkey Trot’s 17th year. Over the past decade and a half Turkey Trot has become a family tradition for thousands of community members.

That’s why all of us at Clark County Food Bank want to offer a big post-holiday THANK YOU to all 1,400 runners, walkers, volunteers, sponsors, and Polar-Plungers who braved the rain and helped make this event an enormous success.
