When a group of second graders decided they wanted to help people in our community, they wouldn’t let anyone or anything stand in their way!

A very passionate and outspoken group of second graders from Riverview Elementary School wrote letters to their teachers and principals asking if they could host a food drive to help people in Clark County.

After their food drive, students visited Clark County Food Bank to volunteer their time and lean about food insecurity.

Of course, teachers and staff enthusiastically agreed. And they encouraged students to take their idea one step further and volunteer at Clark County Food Bank.

So after this group of second graders decorated food donation boxes in the classroom, organized a food drive, and collected donations at their school, they loaded onto a school bus and made their way to Clark County Food Bank.

During the visit, second graders weighed their food donations and packed food boxes for families in our community.

During their visit, the students proudly weighed their food donations, they learned about nutrition, and they helped pack food boxes for people in our community.

Thank you, Riverview second graders! Your dedication and hard work are an inspiration to our entire community. Thanks for helping so many people who are food insecure. Keep up the great work!
